At Wisteria Pain and Spine, our mission is to provide compassionate, patient-centered care through minimally invasive treatments for pain. Utilizing advanced techniques such as fluoroscopy, ultrasound-guided injections, personalized medical management, and integrated physical therapy, we aim to relieve pain, restore function, and improve the quality of life for each patient. We believe in listening empathetically to the causes of pain and collaborating with our patients to develop customized treatment plans that promote healing, well-being, and long-term recovery.

Our Provider

Christian Acharte, MD

Dr. Christian Acharte is a board-certified physician in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, as well as Pain Medicine. He is the founder of  Wisteria Pain and Spine, a clinic dedicated to providing compassionate, minimally invasive treatments for pain. Dr. Acharte specializes in advanced techniques such as fluoroscopy, ultrasound-guided injections, and personalized medical management to treat chronic pain conditions, strongly emphasizing improving patients' quality of life.

Dr. Acharte earned his BS, MD, and MPH degrees from the University of Connecticut, where he completed a thesis on prescription opioid abuse as a gateway to the misuse of other medications. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He then completed a fellowship in Pain Medicine at Pennsylvania Pain and Spine Institute before staying on board as an Attending and also held the position of Director of Research.

In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Acharte is an accomplished researcher, having contributed to multiple projects on opioid monitoring and pain management outcomes. He has presented at national conferences and authored several peer-reviewed publications. His holistic approach integrates minimally invasive procedures, physical therapy, and comprehensive medical management to create tailored treatment plans prioritizing patient care and recovery. In his free time Dr. Acharte enjoys exploring world cuisines (spicier the better!), spending time with his friends and family, and tending to his growing plant collection
